Shrimp Grilling Recipes

Grilled shrimp are great on a warm summer day. Depending upon your preferences there are many different shrimp grilling recipes that you can use to create wonderful grilled shrimp. Just a few shrimp grilling recipes that you can use include garlic shrimp, lemon shrimp and soy shrimp. Below, we will explore a few different shrimp grilling recipes.

When grilling recipes, it is critical to make sure that you choose fresh shrimp of the right size. It is best to always purchase shrimp on the same day that you plan to grill them. You should look for large shrimp that are jumbo size at least. Shrimp this size should come about 12 or so to the pound. Colossal shrimp will come about ten to the pound. The reason for using larger shrimp is that they are easier to handle on the grill. Smaller shrimp have a tendency to slip through the grilling basket or the rack and are also more difficult to turn.

When using shrimp grilling recipes keep in mind that you can use either a grilling basket or you can skewer the shrimp and place them directly on the grill. The grill should then be place about three inches over the fire.

One of the simplest shrimp grilling recipes that you can use is an easy oil marinade. Simply brush the shrimp lightly with olive oil and then grill the shrimp until they begin to turn pink. Next, turn the shrimp and grill on the other side. The shrimp should not cook more than about seven minute, three minutes or so on each side. When the shrimp are finished they should be pink.

There are also other shrimp grilling recipes that you can use as well, including a simple garlic marinade. This recipe calls for six cloves of finely chopped garlic, a quarter cup olive oil, a couple of tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley and a sprinkling of salt and pepper.

There are also lemon shrimp grilling recipes. For example, you might use a dash of fresh lemon juice, a couple of teaspoons of chopped parsley, a dash of basil and a dash of salt.

Keep in mind that with all shrimp grilling recipes, it is imperative that you make sure you keep a close eye on the shrimp. It is critical to make sure that the shrimp do not overcook. If the shrimp overcook, it will cause them to be tough and will take away the flavor.
